Position Overview
We’re seeking a Greenhouse Team Leader responsible for supervising a team to undertake all activities related to growing, harvesting, packing, storing and dispatching hydroponic crops. This may include planting, pruning, harvesting, packing, logistics monitoring plant health, application of pest controls, and recording and compiling data– under the guidance and direction of Agrisano’s Farm Manager and Agronomists. This role requires hands-on involvement, a willingness to learn and work as part of a team, a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision
Supervise all activities related to: harvesting, packing, dispatch, storage
Monitor crops for pests, disease and general health, apply controls, and keep records of pest control activities.
Liaise with Farm Manager and Supervisors to ensure all required activities are performed smoothly
Assist with the operation of irrigation and fertigation systems.
Data Collection & Reporting
Collect and record crop performance data, harvest volumes, and quality metrics.
Monitor and log pest levels, diseases, plant health and treatment effectiveness.
Assist in the preparation of reports on progress, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
Quality Control & Compliance
Maintain and enforce high standards of food safety, produce quality and biosecurity.
Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and enforce safe work practices.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Skills & AttributesExperience or training in agriculture or related field
Knowledge of crop management, pest and disease control, and farm operations desirable but not essential.
Experience as a supervisor essential
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Physical fitness and stamina for hands-on farm work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture essential.
Current driver’s licence.
Chemical application accreditation.
Forklift ticket or the willingness to obtain one
